Specific Information
Description: This OX81 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat interleukin (IL)-4. Also known as BCDF, BCGF-1 and BSF-1, IL-4 is secreted by activated Th2 and natural killer T cells. This cytokine is also produced by Th1 and mast cells albeit to a lesser extent. IL-4 is species-specific and promotes proliferation and differentiation of B cells. IL-4, in conjunction with other signals such as CD40, induces Ig isotype switching of B cells and the upregulation of MHC class II and CD23.
The OX81 antibody has been reported to exhibit neutralizing activity.
Applications Reported: This OX81 antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis, and western blotting.
Applications Tested: This OX81 antibody has been tested by intracellular flow cytometric analysis of activated rat splenocytes.
Storage and handling: Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.001 ng/µg antibody, as determined by LAL assay.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
