Purification: Affinity chromatography
Data Sheet: TDS
Specific Information
Description: VAP-1 (TK8-14) is a mouse monoclonal antibody raised against affinity purifiedVAP-1 from tonsil stroma of human origin.
Lymphocyte binding to vascular endothelium is a prerequisite for the move-ment of immune cells from the blood into lymphoid tissues and into sites ofinflammation. Under inflammatory conditions, cell surface expression ofVAP-1 (vascular adhesion protein-1) which is an endothelial sialoglycoprotein,is induced. VAP-1 is a type II transmembrane protein of 84.6 kDa with a singletransmembrane domain and N and O-glycosylation sites in the extracellulardomain. In vivo, VAP-1 exists predominantly as a 180 kDa homodimer andfunctions both as an enzyme (monoamine oxidase) and an adhesion moleculefor lymphocytes.
Applications Tested: ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, Western Blotting.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
